2nd yearender hike
Mt Ulap, Itogon, Benguet, Dec. 30, 2019.
A day hike through photogenic sceneries
But don't be deceived by the great pics
The climb isn't all that easy.
Gasping for air at the ascents due to the high altitude, rest breaks come in the form of pictorials with spectacular sceneries.
And the temperature rises as one nears the 3rd peak.
By this time the tired are also thirsty and hungry so the lunch break is a much welcomed respite from all that climbing.
And an eatery magically appears right smack in the middle of nowhere. A plateful of instant noodles could be had for 25php. Same price for a small Coke. Business is brisk. Talk of a captive market.
And then the descent. If one thinks that the end of the trail is the end, well, sorry.
The steep downhill is painful. And excruciatingly so. Leg muscles and joints become sore. And fatigue settles in.
Or am I just old?
My 2 boys Nonot and Raymond are at their peak
And that is consolation enough
With family Noel and friends
